Hello Beautifuls!

Monday (the 12th) was my birthday, so my boyfriend and I spent the day together.  We went to Cold Stone Creamery, and as we were leaving, this lady stopped us.  I was wearing my To Write Love On Her Arms shirt, and she pointed to it while she mouthed the words “I like you shirt.” She then pushed up her sleeve, revealing her scars.   She gave me a smile and a thumbs up.  I was so touched and gave her a smile and a thumbs up in return.  As she walked away, my boyfriend gave me a puzzled look, so I explained what To Write Love On Her Arms was and why the woman had smiled and shown me her scars.  It was such an amazing moment for me.  I’ll never forget the woman who was brave enough to show her scars to a complete stranger.  She felt comfortable enough to share a bit of her story with me without saying a single word. 

I knew there was a reason I felt I needed to wear that shirt that day… :)

A semi colon is put in a place where a sentence could end… but you (the writer) can decide to keep going. It’s the same for life. You are the one who makes the decision to live. It is going to represent my decision to live and keep fighting, not allowing this to be the end of my sentence.

I am very happy to state that Prop 8 (which banned gay marriage in California) was NOT passed yesterday!!! Gay marriage is legal in Cali…again! :D
